Kirsi Helkala

Currently, I am a professor at the Norwegian Defence Cyber Academy, Cyberingeniørskolen (called earlier Forsvarets Ingeniørshøgskole).
Earlier I have worked at Gjøvik University College, that is now part of  NTNU. I am still connected to NTNU as I am a guest researcher there.

I hold a Master of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Joensuu, Finland and a PhD within information  security from the University of Oslo,  Norway (PhD dissertation: Authentication in Health Services).

I teach mathematics and supervise information and cyber security related student workshops, term papers and thesis.  My research interest  lays on human factor in cyber security. I am a member of a research group called CHAP.
